Laurent Vanbever and Grégory Pardoen have received the Alcatel-Lucent innovation award for the MSc thesis entitled "Design et implémentation d'un logiciel de validation et de génération de configurations réseaux". A subset of this thesis has already been presented at INM2008.

The IP Networking Lab organises a graduate networking course on September 4th 2008, September 15th and September 16th, 2008 in Louvain-la-Neuve. The course will be given by Maoke Chen from Tsinghua University and Olivier Bonaventure.

The IP Networking Lab actively contributes to the experimental evaluation of mechanisms and protocols for the future Internet architecture by releasing the first publicly available implementations of the Locator Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP) and the shim6 host-based IPv6 multihoming.

Since March 2008, Benoit Donnet participates in the COST Action IC0703 "Data Traffic Monitoring and Analysis (TMA): theory, techniques, tools and applications for the future networks" together with key researchers who work on Internet measurements in Europe.

The IP networking lab organised on April 24th, 2008 in Louvain-la-Neuve a half-day seminar. During this seminar, lab members explained our recent research results to network engineers from enterprise networks, ISP networks or router manufacturers. Together with key European research labs that are active on IP networks, the IP networking lab participates in the three-year EU-funded Trilogy collaborative research project that is developing a radical new architecture for the Internet.
